Emma Nelson, a transplant from the UK, came to California with a long list of Theater credits under her belt. Leaving the RSC – (Royal Shakespeare Company) and landing here in Santa Monica she found Theater was great but different and thought that since this was the land of great adventure she would use her theater and marketing skills, change tact and discover something else that she would love equally. Nearly 8 years later here she as a Commercial Casting Director discovering really “Real People” for commercials: “Call of Duty – Dir. Rupert Sanders or Bank of America – Dir. Sam Bayer” as well as putting the perfect Actor in a National Network commercial: “Bank of America – Dir. Lance Acord, Chase – Dir.Jeff Preiss”.

What she has observed is over these years is that casting is about more than just having an eye for great talent. It’s about truly understanding the client’s vision and then digging deep to find people who create a bridge between the brand and the audience. It’s about relationships—with agents, talent, filmmakers and agencies. And it’s about service: being able to react quickly to the client’s changing needs without ever cutting corners.

As change is always good Emma is always looking for something interesting to get her teeth stuck into so there is no project too big or small.
